The Spirit of laziness…I was dealing with this spirit today, for some reason, I don’t know really why, except that maybe I havn’t been getting enough sleep lately that I havn’t been doing any of my school work. I was trying to read my bible from the time I got back from cell-group to the time before my 2nd class and I just couldn’t accomplish this feat…. For some reason I just kept falling asleep, and once I was asleep, it was all I could do to not wake up.
I even recall waking up for a second and starting to pray, just for the day and how the Lord would use me and what not, and then one of my friends from down the hall comes in and is like “Brandon” and I realized I was almost ½ asleep so that woke me up just long enough to tell him I had burned him the cd’s he wanted and then he left. Then I fell asleep, knowing I was trying to pray….HOW DO YOU DEFEAT SOMETHING YOU CAN’T SEEM TO CONTROL!? First (for me) I had to realize there was a problem, because w/o knowing there is a problem how are you going to know some things wrong.??? Then it comes down to “What are you going to do about it” So right before, I mean right before, I think I woke up with like 20 mins before class. I sent a txt message to my friend Mike, who is also my cell leader asking him to pray for me, because I knew that this spirit had been on me for awhile now and that I needed to overcome it. Then I just began to pray the spirit off of me, and amazingly we had just been talking about (in cell group) how a physical action has a spiritual effect. So I began to throw the spirit off of my body, I grabbed it from my hands, my mind, my body and my legs and feet my eyes my ears and threw it away and did it a second time just to make sure I got it all, all the while praying “Lord I cast this off in Jesus name”. Also proclaiming my victory through Jesus Christ, I am more than a conqueror through him, Resist the devil and he must flee….are some things that came to mind. So whenever you feel overcome with a spirit of doubt, any spirit at all know that God has called you to be more than a conqueror in him and that the Light of Christ Shines through you and the Devil must flee, and that includes all of his influence and spirits.
